Bass Guitar Lessons At
Rattle & Drum
Why choose us for Bass?
At many music schools bass is an afterthought but here at Rattle & Drum we take it as seriously as any other instrument. All our bass lessons are taken by working bassists with years of playing and teaching experience.
One thing the last year has reminded us of is that while it is possible to try to teach yourself how to play bass, watching loads of Youtube videos is not going to help you progress much on its own. And while online bass lessons can work in a pinch, if you want to make real progress there is nothing that comes close to the experience of a teacher and student sitting in a room together.
If you are a complete beginner we can get you going in no time, and if you have been playing for a while but are struggling to make progress we know exactly what to do to keep you improving.
We can help with all aspects of playing from technique to theory, whether it is just a hobby or we are getting you gig-fit or helping you work towards grades.
Is it suitable for me?
We welcome students of all ages and abilities at Rattle & Drum. Beginner to advanced, we can help you progress. We have students from children to retirees so you are not too young or too old to get going!
Because basses are quite big to hold we would recommend young starters are around age 10 or over depending on their size.
All of our teachers are Grade 8 standard or above, DBS checked and fully insured.
We have a dedicated teaching studio in Derby City Centre where we teach hundreds of students every week. We use the Trinity College London Rock & Pop syllabus with many of our students; it is a great path to learn the instrument and some students choose to study for grades, but this is not essential and you can set your own individual goals with your teacher if you prefer.
We are currently running an introductory offer of 4 one-on-one lessons for £30 so there has never been a better time to give it a go!
